You can also contact these organizations directly to inquire about visiting their facilities, delivering your donations and learning about other group activities they may be hosting.
Old Friends – Old Friends is a non-profit organization that cares for over 150 horses across 3 states, many of them being retired racehorses.
Kentucky Refugee Ministries – KRM assists refugees who have been legally admitted to the United States as victims of warfare or other forms of persecution because of their religious or political beliefs.
Dress for Success Louisville – Promoting the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, Dress for Success provides a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.
Kentucky Humane Society – Located in Louisville, KHS is a private, nonprofit organization that is Kentucky’s largest pet adoption agency and oldest animal welfare organization.
Boys and Girls Clubs of Kentuckiana – BGCK is an out-of-school time provider, offering a safe haven for youth who need us. They open their doors and their arms to kids ages 6-18, in a safe, positive environment.
Blessings in a Backpack – Blessings in a Backpack provides elementary schoolchildren who are on the federal Free and Reduced Price Meal Program with a backpack of food to take home for 38 weekends during the school year.
St. Joseph Children’s Home -SJCH has provided a loving home to Louisville’s most vulnerable children – first orphans, and in later years those children removed from their homes due to neglect, abuse, domestic violence or substance abuse.
Bears On Patrol – Donate your used stuffed animals to Kosair Charities and they will distribute them to police officers to carry in their patrol cars. The officers will then pass them along to children they encounter in stressful situations.
Metro United Way – Connecting the community to provide a better life for all, Metro United Way has many volunteer opportunities and ways to donate.
American Printing House for the Blind – APH promotes independence of blind and visually impaired persons by providing specialized materials, products, and services needed for education and life.
Home of the Innocents – Louisville’s Home of the Innocents serves nearly four thousand children each year who are facing severe crises.
The Center for Women and Families – The Center for Women and Families offers services to all survivors of intimate partner abuse or sexual violence.
Wayside Christian Mission – The purpose of the Wayside Christian Mission is to respond to human need of the poor and homeless, providing hope.
Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kentuckiana– The RMH provides a “home away from home” for families of children receiving healthcare at area medical facilities while also lending support to other organizations who aid children.
Habitat for Humanity of Metro Louisville – A nonprofit ecumenical Christian housing ministry, Habitat for Humanity builds simple and affordable homes in partnership with those in need of decent housing. Habitat sells houses to qualified families at no profit with zero-interest mortgage loans.
Volunteers of America Kentucky – VofA creates positive change in the lives of individuals and communities through a ministry of many critical services.
Dare to Care Food Bank – Dare to Care partners with over 300 local, social service agencies to distribute food to those in our community who need it most.
The Salvation Army of Louisville – The Salvation Army is a Christian organization which works with adults, children, and families who are in need of assistance; a hand-up, not just a hand-out.
Cedar Lake – Cedar Lake offers highly compassionate, capable care for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities so they may experience a life of abundant possibilities.
